Ashley Tisdale Enjoying In White Drink: Ashley Tisdale holds up her cellphone and drink high to cover her face as she makes her way back to her hotel from a workout in Vancouver. The 25-year-old actress just returned from a short trip home last weekend, but her mom Lisa followed her back. Ash tweeted, “Just finished work now with my momma out to dinner. So nice when family comes to visit me.”

Ashley Tisdale Sells Michalka Sizzles:Alyson Michalka of the sister act Aly & AJ shows off her sculpted abs and incredibly sick moves in the CW's latest offering, Hellcats. Michalka plays Marti, a law student attending a fictional Memphis-based college.

On a scholarship that gets cut without her finding out until the last moment. Out of desperation -- and against her own sensibilities -- she tries out for the school cheerleading squad, the titular Hellcats, and enters a world unlike the one she knew, and totally apart from the one she expected.

I'd put off watching the pilot for this series, because -- like Marti -- my expectations were way off base. I was pegging this to be some attempt to create "Bring it On: The Series" (and the franchise does get a humorous cameo nod).

I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, there's the cattiness one would expect in a series involving popular girls and the outsider. But there's genuine friendship that evolves as well. Marti initially finds herself on the outs with cheer captain Savannah (Ashley Tisdale, "High School Musical"), but soon enough finds herself in an unlikely friendship.

Tisdale's character is introduced as a stereotypical blend of naivete and superficiality, but then quickly evolves beyond expectations into someone who truly cares about what she does with a contagious commitment. Don't call her a "football groupie," or she'll school you on just how physical her practice regimen is -- and she'll do it logically and convincingly and truly shut your mouth.

Gail O'Grady plays Marti's dysfunctional mother who means well but always brings way more baggage to the table than Marti is capable of handling. She's flighty and irresponsible and will be the mental and emotional obstacle for Marti as her college career progresses.

Marti will also have to wrestle her way out of a love triangle between herself, her "best bud" Dan (Matt Barr) and hunky cheerleader Lewis (Robbie Jones), the latter of whom provides the catalyst for the real cattiness angle to the show; he's just broken up with teammate, Alice (Heather Hemmens), giving her just that much more reason to hate Marti (you'll have to watch the pilot to find out the other reasons).

Ashley Tisdale Up Coming Movie Scene With Matt Barr: Hellcats costars Ashley Tisdale and Matt Barr wait for their lunch as they film a date scene for their upcoming CW series in Vancouver. The duo were also seen earlier in the month filming a late night scene with costars Aly Michalka, Jeremy Wong and Robbie Jones.

Ashley told Zap2It about the relationship between Savannah and Dan, “She’s used to dates being set up by the church, so she hasn’t had much of an experience with romance. She and [Dan] start to go out, and it creates a whole new triangle in the show. She’s complicated. In some scenes, I want to really go there with emotions and get emotional, but she’s really closed off, so I have to stop myself. It’s hard to keep everything inside, but she’s that character. She’s not open to everybody. She doesn’t let anyone in.”

Joined by co-star Matt Barr, the "Aliens In the Attic" actress looked cute in a light summery dress as she continues to film episodes as the CW series' premiere draws closer.

With the pilot airing on Wednesday September 8 at 9/8C, executive producer Kevin Murphy told E! Online, "Dancing is a huge component, but it exists with one foot in the world of the characters. People are going to tune in for the central characters."As for her Savannah role, Tizzie says she's "completely different" from the Sharpay Evans "High School Musical" role which made her famous.

Ashley Tisdale Teaching Cheerleader Lessons: Ashley Tisdale's mother is teaching her how to be a cheerleader. The 'High School Musical' star appears in new TV series 'Wildcats' as a pom-pom waving dancer and her mom Lisa has been showing what moves she needs to know. Ashley said: "I was never a cheerleader but luckily my mom was, and she's been giving me some great tips. It's hard but I'm really enjoying it and it's a great way to keep fit. In fact I've never been so fit!"

The 25-year-old actress has previously admitted her mother is the biggest influence in her life. She said: "My mom is very confident and she was always a role model of mine. I never really looked up to celebrities when I was young. "I definitely work hard at stuff. I never give up on things. If I'm going to do something, I'm going to go a hundred per cent into it - just like my mom."

Ashley Tisdale Perform Her New Tv Series: Ashley Tisdale got a helping hand for her new TV series Wildcats, in which she plays a head cheerleader called Savannah. Ahead of shooting the show, the High School Musical actress revealed that her mom Lisa gave her some tips when it came to her on-screen moves. "I was never a cheerleader but luckily my mom was," says Ashley, "and she's been giving me some great tips.

"It's hard but I'm really enjoying it and it's a great way to keep fit. In fact I've never been so fit!"The 25-year-old recently said of her character: "You think Savannah's going to be mean, but she really actually isn't. She means well, she's just a little bit off..."She's definitely off. I mean, she's the captain of the cheerleaders. She's a flyer up on the top of the pyramid. You have to be a little bit off to do that."Tisdale also just filmed a spin-off movie from High School Musical, in which she reprises her character of Sharpay.

Ashley Tisdale: Hang On HellCats: She enjoyed some time away from the set of her new show “Hellcats,” but Ashley Tisdale was spotted heading back to Vancouver, Canada. The Disney darling and her puppy were spotted waiting for a flight at LAX International Airport, en route to shoot more episodes for the upcoming season alongside co-star Aly Michalka.

During the CW Television Critics Association shindig, “Hellcats” producer Kevin Murphy explained his thinking behind nabbing Ashley and Aly for the gig. “With Ashley, I laughed my ass off and wanted to get up and hug her at the same time; she can hold multiple colors in the same palatte. [Casting Marti was] a long and arduous process. She [Aly] had determination and grit and assertiveness and vulnerability.”

During the TCA Panel, producer Kevin Murphy opened up on just why he cast the girls in the lead roles.
