Ashley Tisdale Dance With Hellcats Team: Ashley Tisdale is moving on up in the world of televised academia. Make that way up and then back down, with a soft landing. As a college cheerleader in the new CW series Hellcats (premiering Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT), the former Disney High School Musicalstar is literally flying high.

"I have actually done a flying stunt and a basket toss," says Tisdale, 25, who also has a stunt double for the trickiest moves. "Obviously I don't want to get hurt, but I feel really comfortable. ... I like a challenge."

Tisdale plays fictional Lancer University Hellcats cheer captain Savannah Monroe, who raises eyebrows when she adds an unknown, atypical member to the squad after an injury forces another member out. The actress felt the part was a perfect fit for what is both her first dramatic role and her first regular broadcast series role.

Yes, there's some CW-style drama, but also the high-energy music and dancing that comes along with competitive cheerleading — a natural follow-up to her Disney turn as sassy Sharpay Evans. It's also a move that she hopes will entice her maturing HSM fans to stick with her.

Ashley Tisdale Videos: Captain Savannah Monroe: Ashley Tisdale is opening up about her captain Savannah Monroe character in the new series, Hellcats. The 25-year-old actress joked about Savannah, “She is a neat freak! She’s completely organized and definitely focused. She’s been in her own cheerleading bubble for so long and it’s her whole life. With her and Marti being roommates, they free each other with that.”

Costar pal Aly Michalka chimed in on the Savannah-Marti friendship, saying, “I love that they become friends. There’s this offbeat, quirky relationship with the two of them that — these girls who really don’t have that much in common, actually respect each other.”

Ashley Tisdale & Aly Michalka Shooting In Her New Film: Aly Michalka’s worst fears come to life as she prepares for qualifiers in this new still from Hellcats. In the upcoming episode “I Say A Little Prayer,” Marti (Michalka) is horrified when she discovers Wanda (Gail O’Grady) in the audience at qualifiers and banishes her from the stadium. After Charlotte (guest star Emma Lahanna), Savannah’s (Ashley Tisdale) sister and captain of the Hellcats’ rival team from Memphis Christian college, falls and suffers a serious injury, Savannah is torn between going with her sister to the hospital and staying to compete.

Savannah tells Marti her parents stopped talking to her when she decided to transfer from Memphis Christian to the secular Lancer University, forcing Marti to re-think her stance on Wanda attending qualifiers. Meanwhile, Lewis (Robbie Jones) blasts Alice (Heather Hemmens) for putting all their scholarships at risk, and Dan (Matt Barr) takes an interest in Savannah.

Ashley Tisdale Sells Michalka Sizzles:Alyson Michalka of the sister act Aly & AJ shows off her sculpted abs and incredibly sick moves in the CW's latest offering, Hellcats. Michalka plays Marti, a law student attending a fictional Memphis-based college.

On a scholarship that gets cut without her finding out until the last moment. Out of desperation -- and against her own sensibilities -- she tries out for the school cheerleading squad, the titular Hellcats, and enters a world unlike the one she knew, and totally apart from the one she expected.

I'd put off watching the pilot for this series, because -- like Marti -- my expectations were way off base. I was pegging this to be some attempt to create "Bring it On: The Series" (and the franchise does get a humorous cameo nod).

I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, there's the cattiness one would expect in a series involving popular girls and the outsider. But there's genuine friendship that evolves as well. Marti initially finds herself on the outs with cheer captain Savannah (Ashley Tisdale, "High School Musical"), but soon enough finds herself in an unlikely friendship.

Tisdale's character is introduced as a stereotypical blend of naivete and superficiality, but then quickly evolves beyond expectations into someone who truly cares about what she does with a contagious commitment. Don't call her a "football groupie," or she'll school you on just how physical her practice regimen is -- and she'll do it logically and convincingly and truly shut your mouth.

Gail O'Grady plays Marti's dysfunctional mother who means well but always brings way more baggage to the table than Marti is capable of handling. She's flighty and irresponsible and will be the mental and emotional obstacle for Marti as her college career progresses.

Marti will also have to wrestle her way out of a love triangle between herself, her "best bud" Dan (Matt Barr) and hunky cheerleader Lewis (Robbie Jones), the latter of whom provides the catalyst for the real cattiness angle to the show; he's just broken up with teammate, Alice (Heather Hemmens), giving her just that much more reason to hate Marti (you'll have to watch the pilot to find out the other reasons).

Ashley Tisdale Up Coming Movie Scene With Matt Barr: Hellcats costars Ashley Tisdale and Matt Barr wait for their lunch as they film a date scene for their upcoming CW series in Vancouver. The duo were also seen earlier in the month filming a late night scene with costars Aly Michalka, Jeremy Wong and Robbie Jones.

Ashley told Zap2It about the relationship between Savannah and Dan, “She’s used to dates being set up by the church, so she hasn’t had much of an experience with romance. She and [Dan] start to go out, and it creates a whole new triangle in the show. She’s complicated. In some scenes, I want to really go there with emotions and get emotional, but she’s really closed off, so I have to stop myself. It’s hard to keep everything inside, but she’s that character. She’s not open to everybody. She doesn’t let anyone in.”

Ashley Tisdale Dating Dinner Scene In Hellcats Shooting: Working away on her brand new show, Ashley Tisdale was busy shooting a dinner scene on the set of "Hellcats" in Vancouver, BC. Joined by co-star Matt Barr, the "Aliens In the Attic" actress looked cute in a light summery dress as she continues to film episodes as the CW series' premiere draws closer.

With the pilot airing on Wednesday September 8 at 9/8C, executive producer Kevin Murphy told E! Online, "Dancing is a huge component, but it exists with one foot in the world of the characters. People are going to tune in for the central characters."As for her Savannah role, Tizzie says she's "completely different" from the Sharpay Evans "High School Musical" role which made her famous.

Ashley Tisdale & Aly Michalka Makeup Mind To Watch Hellcats: Except when my teenage girlfriend (she's mature for her age and gets me!) makes me, I will not tune my TV to the CW Network. I get it, it's not meant for me. I don't like chic vampires. But, now, Hellcats. Cheerleaders. Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka butt cheek flashes  representing! I'm pretty much defenseless here. We've not covered Aly Michalka specifically before, but her cute smile, butter cream, err, butt, and those amazing boobs, well deserving of joining the Egotastic! family. As for Ms. Tisdale, a little cutie no doubt, who, if you play your cards right, as below, will stroll down the street in a see-through top and give a little bra peek.

She shared with JJJ, “I’ve actually just sold my first movie to ABC Family, which I’m not in, and it’s really exciting, because it’s hard. When I do production meetings, they always ask if I’m going to be in it. For this one, I told them ‘no, I don’t want to be in it I just want to produce something’ and they told me, ‘Oh, ok cause that’s really hard to sell.’”Ashley continued, “Everybody who wants to buy something from my brand usually wants me in it and I really want to establish my production company being separate. I just want to do something, have ideas and come up with you know reality shows and this movie that we’ve just sold to ABC Family I’m really excited about.”

Ashley Tisdale & Aly Michalka Lunch her New Movie Hellcats Poster:  Check out the hot new Hellcats poster! Starring Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka, the upcoming CW series follows Marti (Michalka), a pre-law college student from the wrong side of the tracks. When budget cutbacks and her mother’s constant carelessness cause her to lose her scholarship, she joins the Hellcats, the college’s competitive cheerleading team. Gail O’Grady, Heather Hemmens and Robbie Jones round out the cast.

When we first announced that Ashley Tisdale was set to co-star in Hellcatson The CW I was excited.  I loved her on all of the Disney Channel stuff and felt that she was going to be able to be accomplished in other projects.  Hellcats is a project that I think is a perfect role for her at this time in her life, and it was interesting to see her as a brunette.  Aly Michalka from the Disney Channel show, Phil of the Future, will be playing Marti which makes for a very nice cast.

The video gives you a taste of what you can expect in the show and I personally think it will be a huge hit for The CW.  What are you first thoughts?
