Ashley Tisdale Movie to be released on April: In the history of cinema, evil characters have always been more interesting than the good ones. And frankly, the character of Sharpay--the scheming, spoiled-rotten but still sensitive teen queen who played everyone's nemesis in "High School Musical" (2006) and two sequels--was a heck of a lot more fun to watch than than Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), who was just a little too giggly and goody-goody.
Sharpay had that French pout going, plus, fueled by Tisdale's talent, some of the best songs. Like "Fabulous," in which Sharpay sang about how she absolutely had to have everything in life be fab . . . and what's wrong with that? Sharpay is a fun character, and Tisdale, who's already recorded six albums, has a big fan base. That ought to make "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure" a big hit when it debuts on the Disney Channel.
April 19, 2011 has already been announced for the Blu-ray and DVD release of this 90-minute direct-to-video film, but you have to believe that Disney will roll it into their TV line-up shortly thereafter.
